Our Jonge Dubbele Graanjenever has been Hooghoudt’s pride and joy for many years. It’s authentic, genuine and perfectly balanced. It’s prepared according to our feeling, with respect for the purest natural products: grain, herbs and water. It’s a drink with a unique personality, which has been the uncrowned king of Holland gins for many successive decades. It’s made according to a family recipe, using the very best grain spirit and our special double-distilled extract of juniper berries. It has the purest and most delectable flavour you can imagine. And that’s where Hooghoudt’s strength lies. That’s how our Holland gin sets the tone for all our other highly individual and delectable drinks using this perfect and sublime basis. Hooghoudt was the first company to advertise its special Jonge Dubbele Graanjenever on television at the end of the 1960s. Not because we wanted to brag about it, but simply because we believed in it. We were so proud of the result that we didn’t want to keep this Groningen secret to ourselves any longer. We wanted to share it with everyone in the Netherlands. This typical sense of tradition and self-esteem has characterised Hooghoudt throughout the years. Our down-to-earth confidence in our own expertise and insight has subsequently resulted in new preparation methods for equally trend-setting beverages. Our Beerenburg, Blackcurrant and Lemon Gin, our superior Korenwijn and Vieux are worthy of the designation ‘Royal’. These are our capital: a solid foundation for the future, in which Hooghoudt takes its customers on a voyage to rediscover all that is traditionally Dutch. But this includes a special ‘twist’ according to our own views, backed up with a convincing story. Another typical Hooghoudt motto is that challenges lie in innovation. Stichting Verantwoord Alcoholgebruik (STIVA)

Hooghoudt is registered with the Campaign for Sensible Drinking (STIVA). Together with other Dutch manufacturers and importers of beer, wine and spirits, our company actively contributes to promoting sensible drinking and reducing alcohol misuse. For this reason, Hooghoudt expressly does not target young people in its advertising activities. Hooghoudt endorses STIVA’s role in promoting socially responsible market behaviour by coordinating and communicating on the self-regulation realised by the industrial sectors on the basis of the Press Advertising Code for Alcoholic Beverages. Hooghoudt participates in consultations with the government and other relevant parties in order to achieve STIVA’s objectives, and provides information on sensible drinking and preventing alcohol misuse on request.
